Are you sure you were not at war? The AI doesn't always tell you when it decides to go to war with you.

Look at the screenshot...... the RELATIONS report should tell you whether or not you'r at war.

I'm 100% sure otherwise I wouldn't be posting this godforsaken bug report....

I've had the AI stop being at war with me without me knowing. I declared war on them by attacking their military and influence star bases. They sent fleet after fleet to take me out, and I easily destroyed every attacking fleet. Some time later, after I hadn't seen any ships come towards me for a while, they built an economy starbase next to my military starbase that I was using to pump up my ships down in their territory. I attacked it, and I was prompted "Do you really want to attack the starbase? Doing so will cause the Torians to declare war on you." We had never agreed on peace terms, they just suddenly weren't at war.

This was with Beta 2.

One option that I think would be nice would be to be alerted whenever anyone declares war on another. You can see it in the "treaties" section any turn you want. But I'd really like to know when different races are at war, not just randomly when I check the treaties.

Look folks I posted here to report a bug not have every other idiot bumping off of walls and argueing whether or not its a bug.

It's a blooming bug for goodness sake. If the AI ships are not attacking, and I cant attack them without a "would you like to declare war?" vote thing and it says in the relations box that I'm not at war with them and in the other Diplomacy screen where you see all the races and can scroll through seeing if they're at war with you well they arn't at war with me.

Quite frankly they SAY when they go to war with you , you get a freaking message how the hell can ANYONE even someone who has played his FIRST game MISS IT?

Random jolly-riding posts argueing whether it''s a bug or not doesn't help me or anyone else.

It's hard to be polite when people who post on my clearly explained, clearly logical completely and fully 100% certain are making out like they know better.

This is indeed a bug! Good one Space_Man_1 you posted it. Seems whenever you report a bug you get a bunch of n00b adding their two cents. Its why I rarely post any reports here. Instead I send them to Cari directly and to gc2bugs@stardock.com

When someone reports a bug it should not be debated if it is a bug. If the game does not tell you about a war, its a bug or you are hitting end turn so fast you all are missing it. I am a gamma tester been playing and testing since the first beta release. You are correct and most others are way off.
